The New New Thing in 1995 was Netscape – an Internet company turning economic theory upside down when it went public. The story has been told by Michael Lewis.
More recent New Things on the Internet, as you all know, are Google, and during the last few months Facebook has been the strongest candidate to the title “The New New Thing”.
Today, with the release of their product Twine, I would say Radar Networks has taken over after Facebook.
Twine is a social networking site also managing documents, tags, search. It is based on natural language and Semantic Web technology. So far, I have not been able to try it out, but judging from descriptions in the blogosphere, I feel that Twine represents a natural next step in the evolution of the web.
